Who We Are
Our Philosophy
Successful Learning supports students in their quest for academic and communicative success. We design our services to meet each students' strengths, needs and learning style. Our services include: speech therapy addressing expressive language, auditory comprehension, speech production and social language skills as well as executive functioning coaching, and tutoring in writing and reading comprehension. As experts in language and writing, we are also positioned to facilitate the college essay process. While most services are currently being provided online, there are in-person possibilities depending on needs. As Successful Learning's in-person services were previously based in Sharon, MA, we are familiar with local area schools and are able to collaborate with educational professionals to provide more comprehensive services for our clients.
It is our belief that with a combination of hard work, motivation, and the right support, all children can be successful and feel good about learning.
Speech-Language Pathologist
Tara Holzman, M.S. CCC-SLP, has over 28 years of experience as a certified, licensed speech pathologist and has worked with children and adults in a variety of settings including medical centers, an educational clinic, a therapeutic day school, and within public schools. For the past 19 years, Tara has specialized in providing speech therapy and optimizing learning and support for students in grades 4-12 who have challenges in communication, executive functioning, pragmatics, language-based learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, as well as a member of The International Dyslexia Association. Tara is always eager to learn new strategies and methods to share with her students and was granted an Award for Continuing Education from ASHA for her commitment to professional learning in 2016 and 2020. She has an ability to connect with her students with her positive outlook, patience, and sense of humor, allowing them to take advantage of her years of experience and use of proven therapeutic methods to facilitate successful learning.
Tutoring
English Language Arts tutoring is available for middle and high school students and is provided by a licensed English teacher.
