Does Successful Learning take insurance?
Yes! Successful Learning accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Allways Health Partners for speech therapy services at this time.
Who would benefit from coming to Successful Learning?
Candidates for Successful Learning are students who would like to improve their skills in expressing themselves orally or in written language, improve their understanding of language, their social language skills, their ability to accomplish goals, or make improvements in their math skills. Speech therapy is available for school-age children through adults, while math and English Language Arts tutoring services are designed for grades 6-12. College essay assistance would be appropriate for high school juniors or seniors.
When are you open?
During the school year, Successful Learning provides services in the afternoons and evenings, with limited hours available on Saturdays. Summer services are available at varied times of day. All hours are by appointment.
Where are you located?
We are exclusively online at this time. While we had a brick-and-mortar location in the center of Sharon from March 2013 to October 2021, we have found that online services are a better fit for our clients. Occasionally, clients may meet in person for an initial session prior to moving to on-line services.
How long are sessions?
Speech therapy session lengths vary from 30-60 minutes, depending on clients' needs. For most coaching or tutoring students, sessions will be 1 hour long. Occasionally, a varied treatment schedule will be beneficial for a client and all scheduling is determined on an individual basis. The overall length of time a student attends Successful Learning will be different for each student, depending on their needs, motivation, and abilities.
Do you work strictly with students, or with parents and schools as well?
Parents, guardians and family members are the most important teachers a student has. We are happy to meet with parents every step of the way, from goal-setting to reviewing sessions, providing carry-over "homework" when appropriate, and demonstrating progress. Children need to learn independence, but you play an integral role in their success as well. School consultations are available. We feel that a team approach, with everyone on the same page, is the best method for facilitating successful learning.
Why should I choose Successful Learning?
Our staff is experienced and use evidenced-based practices whenever possible. We attend continuing education in our fields and are committed to helping each student to achieve to the best of his/her ability. We believe that all students can be successful and build on strengths to enhance target areas.
